The recent videos coming out saying you can’t be Christian and love girls have been really irritating and honestly hurtful to watch. I don’t typically get upset about stuff on the Internet, but the fact that people are spreading this type of message again makes me so upset. We’ve come so far. We decided we were accepting everybody—to spread the word of God, to love God—and just to see it backfire like this with queer influencers is just devastating. To my queer following: you are normal, you are valid, you are loved. What you feel is not the devil talking to you. If you want to love somebody, you are allowed to love them. God made you in His image—and if that means a little fruity, then that’s a little fruity. This is the main reason why it’s so hard for me to feel connected to religion, especially organized religion—because of people like this. The same people who preach “love thy neighbor” are the ones turning around and deciding who’s worthy of that love.
