Yesterday I saw some new comments on my video from 2017 taken at adoption day, with the legendary Malini Fonseka. It made me watch the video again and I wanted to share her wise, thoughtful, kind words once again, which are even more relevant today. She had brought six of the puppies she rescued from the street to the Embark adoption day to find homes for them and took the time to speak to me and give an important message. This beautiful side of her was not highlighted enough and I hope her words shared again today will help spread more love and kindness for these beautiful animals who share our country with us. The daily hate I still see today for these animals is something that is far too common among us and needs to change even more in the days and years ahead, for a life of living in harmony and peace with our animal friends. #otara #tiktoksrilanka #malinifonseka #bekind

Our beautiful beloved Bandit left us peacefully early this morning. He had 16 amazing years filled with love and happiness and one more meaningful than most dogs. As one of the three famous Embark mascots, he played a huge role in uplifting the lives of many dogs like him on the street and also giving many families the love they deserved by creating awareness to adopt one of our very own beloved dogs. The campaigns, the messages that were communicated through him helped many dogs and families find love and happiness together and helped create a kinder more harmonious way of life for our community dogs. If he actually knew it or not, he always was happy to be a part of photo shoots, events and let people and kids pet him without any stress or pressure to do so. And he always posed perfectly and looked amazing, almost like he was meant for the role! The last six years or so he had a very quiet life at home, loved by all of us and loved and protected by all our girl dogs at home. Until his last two days he could walk on his own, ate well and didn’t suffer at all for which we are so grateful. A big thank you to Bandit for his years with us and for his effort to make the world a better place for dogs like him who are not as fortunate to be cared for.
