A brand new band called The Velvet Sundown is being accused of being completely AI-generated. The band has over 300K monthly listeners and just released their first two albums this month (with a third album releasing next month). As pointed out in a Reddit post, “There's not a shred of evidence on the internet that this band has ever existed" All the “band photos” look AI, the bio sounds like it was written by ChatGPT (with a fake quote from Billboard), the album art that looks like slop, and the title of the top track “Dust on the Wind” sounds oddly close to the Kansas hit. Deezer has also labeled the tracks as possibly being created using artificial intelligence. The band’s music has been added to what appear to be botted playlists which is gaining them so many streams and consequently making them show up on people’s “Discover Weekly” playlists. It’s POSSIBLE there are real people making this music and this is all a marketing stunt/aesthetic choice, but what do you think? I hate to even use this band’s music in the post and contribute to the possible sham, but have a listen. #rock

Incredibly sad news, 3 Doors Down vocalist Brad Arnold reveals stage 4 cancer diagnosis and cancels summer tour. In a video, Arnold said “Hey, everybody, it's Brad from 3 Doors Down. I hope you're having a great day today. I've got some not-so-good news for you today. So I'd been sick a couple of weeks ago and then went to the hospital and got checked out and had actually got the diagnosis that I had clear cell renal carcinoma that had metastasized into my lung. And it's stage 4, and that's not real good." "You know what? We serve a mighty God, and he can overcome anything," Arnold said. "So I have no fear. I really, sincerely am not scared of it at all. But it is gonna force us to cancel our tour this summer. And we're sorry for that. And I'd love for you to lift me up in prayer every chance you get. According to Billboard.com, GHOST's new studio album, "Skeletá", has landed at position No. 1 on the US Billboard 200 chart "Skeletá" is the first hard rock album to reach the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 since AC/DC's "Power Up" in 2020. Kali Uchis (who is a singer with millions of streams, before anyone comments “who?”) seems to think the band Sleep Token is doing “blackface” Kali recently shared a Billboard chart graphic (on slide 3) where she used a heart emoji to cover up the number 1 spot which was held by Sleep Token. She then posted a story about how she got her spot without payola and gimmicks.
