These prosthetic foot developments are crazy… 🌟 The foot is the Ossur ‘terra’ I am so grateful to be an amputee in this day and age. Based on my first prosthetics, I can only imagine how tough it would have been to walk with a prosthetic back in the day. Sunbathing as an amputee: two years in vs seven years… I used to never walk into the pool as I’d need a specific waterproof leg. I’d either forget it, or wouldn’t want to wear it as it was made of wood and was uncomfortable. Instead, I’d hop, crawl or be carried. The fact I can now (1) walk into a pool and (2) use my walking leg is mind blowing to me 🤯 I’m so grateful to even have the option!! The foot I have is called ‘terra’ @Össur @Dorset Orthopaedic I do also notice with time, my scars are much better at dealing with the sun so I’m very happy about that. I still have to be careful though with my pale sensitive skin! I’ve noticed lately I’m getting a lot of messages with specific amputee related questions and I have a lot of new faces around here so I’m going to start sharing a lot more specific amputee content like this again.
