This might be the most relaxing and majestic thing I've ever done! Every year almost 30,000 cranes travel through Colorado during their biannual migration and the majority of them stop right here! Because alot of this takes place on the refuge, it's free to do this! It's hard to describe what this makes you feel, just go check it out for yourself.
The perfect place for anyone of any age! I've been here way over 200 times, but while I was injured, this place was invaluable. Being able to see all this beauty without having to get out of the car kept me going on my darkest days. And now that I can walk again, the ♿️ accessible trails are perfect to get back into it. It's free and open almost every day, plus there's a lot of amazing conservation work done here, too, like the reintroduction or black footed ferets. This place is a true gem I hold close to my heart. Sadly, with federal funding cuts and a potential government shutdown, places like this are at risk. Call your representatives, donate, or volunteer at your local refuge. They're always there for the public, and now they need our help. Together, we can keep public lands public!
This was an instant favorite for me. Alltrails says it's rated easy but it definitely felt more moderate to me with the up and down around the lake. It was definitely worth it though! This trail also links up with the continental divide trail and the Colorado trail so you can hike it as far as you want to.
This place means so much to me. It's where I de-stress, meet community, or just recreate. Its where the city of Aurora gets its water. I've seen some many wildlife species here and enjoy the fresh air right outside the city. Unfortunately a new proposal, that is in its final stages, to drill less than a mile away from the reservoir puts all that at risk. Today I got to hangout with a couple community members that are fighting back! Stand with them and follow @savetheaurorareservoir to stay updated. This fight is far from over and we will need your help🙏🏾
This one is a long drive for a day trip, but it couldn't be more worth it! There's an ADA acessible path leading up to the waterfalls, so this one is good for everyone! This park is even more beautiful during the lush early summer months, and it does get packed, so go now during the off-season or take an early day trip to avoid the crowds.
#ad I've heard for a long time that Granby Ranch is the perfect place to learn, but I didn't know that they like to party here too! I've never skiied in fresh pow like this before, but with wide open, family-friendly runs, I felt comfortable going out myself! Plus, I got to witness pond skimming for the first time, and although I won't be participating anytime soon, it was really fun to watch! Granby Ranch is the perfect spot for families to enjoy some epic outdoor fun. The thing is, I thought that meant it was geared towards kids, but this place is perfect for any age!
Hundreds of you have asked me about this place, but you might not get to see it like this if we don't stop this proposal now! There are dozens of beavers here, hundreds of pronghorn, migratory birds, a community, and two elementary schools that use and live near and in this reservoir. If we don't stop this proposal, thousands of humans and animals will suffer. Please go check out @savertheaurorareservior and check the link in my bio to learn more and send a letter letting them know you dont want fracking to mess up your drinking water or this pristine ecosystem!
It's pretty amazing to see so many people here at Rocky Mountain National Park, across Colorado, and at 433 parks across the nation! It is often said that National Parks are our nations greatest idea. Our public lands are at risk, but together, we can stand up and demand change! Protect our parks!!! @Mikayla 🌲 #rockymountainnationalpark #nationalparks #publiclands #protectourparks
This is literally one of the most unique hikes in America, and it's only 20 minutes from Denver! This one is free from sunrise to sunset, but it's more than worth it to take a tour with a geologist. Amazing and educational for all!
So many people commented on the last video wondering why people would be protesting in support of National Parks and all of our Public Lands. Aside from the danger to habitats and concerns for safety and detrimental impacts to local communities, we just want to give back to places that have given us so much. These are some of our stories. We hope that you will stand with us. @Mikayla 🌲 @Resistance Rangers #ProtectOurParks
It feels so good to be back!!! I'm definitely still focusing on flat, easier, shorter trails right now but there really is no feeling like being able to walk among nature and and see the finer details. Thanks for all the support this last month🙏🏾 I cant wait to start taking more adventures with you
